Every story starts somewhere.

Ángeles Ortiz.
AOS Founder

Every story starts somewhere. When I was a kid, my father—a pilot—took me all over Ecuador. It got me curious about how different communities live together in their own ways in such a small territory.

I’m a storyteller with a background in design, passionate about art, and with a special interest in curation and a love for crafts. For me, stories are at the heart of everything I create whether is a film, a marketing campaign, an installation, a space, or a design piece.

Throughout the years, I have carved my own path as a Creative Director, Business Owner, and Product Designer. Recently, I have also taken on the role of an educator in programs in Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador.

Made by AOS was born in Quito, Ecuador, in 2018. Since our early steps as a studio, we have rooted our work ethos around sustainability and collaboration. In our projects, you will find many collaborations with communities., an example of this is 164 Women, an installation made in collaboration with 164 weavers from a rural village in Ecuador.

Research, synthesis and a hands-on approach have earned us the recognition from institutions such as the Rijksmuseum as well as acclaim from the international press, including Architectural Digest, Monocle, Wallpaper, and Dwell.
